Abstract This chapter analyses the key gender issues throughout comparative legal history, from Antiquity to contemporary era. A wide array of subjects will be briefly touched upon, such as traditional roles men and women their recognition, status women, patriarchal patterns trends change, interaction religion law in these areas. These various all portray a millennia-long domination system long arduous struggle for equality. The text is mainly concerned with Western systems, broadly speaking—European, Near-Eastern American—showcasing individual systems Middle Ages, where differences during times were greater, but focusing instead on areas Modern era, convergence common tendencies become more pronounced.
